Biofield Therapy Through Sound

According to the law of physics, everything in the universe vibrates with frequency. Human beings have their own frequencies too, known as resonances. Sound Healing is based on the understanding that dis-regulation or disease in the body is a result of our natural resonance being out of tune or off balance, whether due to stress, illness or environmental factors, and that working with frequencies can bring your body back into a healthy vibration.

Tibetan Singing Bowls produce a wide range of frequencies, which you not only hear but also experience at a physiological level. These frequencies quiet the mind and move us from the sympathetic autonomic nervous system (fight or flight) to the parasympathetic autonomic nervous system (relax and repair). When we are in the parasympathetic system, we are relaxed and peaceful. In this state we can release the stress and tensions we have been storing and the frequencies then have the potential to correct imbalances of dense stuck energy deep down at a cellular level. This in turn allows our mind and body to repair and restore.

Through exposure to the Tibetan Singing Bowls and other harmonic instruments healing can be achieved by retuning our energies and restoring the normal healthy vibratory frequency to the body.

Sound Healing FAQ

  • What can I expect during a Healing Touch session?
The first session involves a review of your intake form which includes a health history and a series of questions about your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. At that time, I will answer any questions you have about Healing Touch. Then you will lay fully clothed on a massage table for a Healing Touch treatment. I will gently place my hands slightly above or on the body in specific spots and in specific sequences, depending on what our mutual goals are for the session. A session generally lasts 40 to 60 minutes, and people frequently report feeling deeply relaxed and peaceful during and after the session. Because there may be a cumulative effect of using Healing Touch over time, regular sessions are recommended.

  • What can I expect during a sound bath?
A sound bath is an opportunty to be bathed in various frequencies and overlapping vibrations to help relax the nervous system and to cleanse the mind and body of blockages caused by tensions, toxins and stress. This is a laying down experiece. While in repose, I begin with a total body relaxation process. Next you will be bathed in the soothing vibrations of my Tibetan Singing Bowls along with many other healing instruments in a sequence which will bring you to a state of very deep relaxation, where your mind rests, while your body releases tensions, and restores itself to allow for optimal energy flow & self healing. This all is to bring you to a most peaceful, restorative and expanded state of being. Upon completion of the sound bath you should feel very relaxed, rested, cleansed, balanced and blissful.
  • Is Healing Touch the same as Reiki?
Healing Touch and Reiki are both viable energy healing therapies, but they differ significantly in training, credentialing, and treatment approaches. To become a Healing Touch Practitioner, individuals must complete a structured, standardized curriculum consisting of five levels of coursework, document 100 client sessions, and undergo an apprenticeship period—typically lasting a year or more—under the guidance of a Registered Nurse who is a Certified Healing Touch Instructor. They must also submit case studies and written assignments to an internationally accredited organization overseen by the American Holistic Nurses Association for evaluation. This ensures a consistent and regulated process. In contrast, Reiki training requires students to receive "attunements" from a Reiki Master, transferring Reiki healing energy to the student. However, Reiki lacks a standardized Code of Ethics, Standards of Practice, or governance for its practitioners. Consequently, the training style and requirements can vary depending on the Reiki Master, and the approval process for practitioners is not universally monitored. Healing Touch, created by Registered Nurse Janet Mentgen, integrates nursing practices with energy healing techniques from various global traditions. The therapy employs a standardized 10-step sequence, focusing on case management, and offers over 30 energy healing techniques. This variety allows practitioners to tailor each session to the client's specific symptoms and mutual healing goals, providing a personalized approach to care.
  • What's the difference between a sound bath and a sound healing session?
A sound bath is a community event open to anyone, designed for deep relaxation, stress relief, and meditation. Participants passively experience soothing vibrations from Tibetan singing bowls and other instruments in a shared space. A sound healing session is a private, 1:1 or small-group experience tailored to specific needs, such as grief, celebration, or personal healing. These sessions can be booked for individuals or private events like birthdays or wellness gatherings, offering a more personalized and intentional sound experience.
